Leading and Speaking!

Leading
Yesterday I led a RSPB Glasgow Local Group outing to North Ayrshire. Despite the weather, we saw at least 50 species with the highlight being 6 Scaup.

It certainly wasn't a day for taking photographs so the next best thing is to illustrate just a few of the birds seen by using images taken on previous outings!

Speaking
I have been invited by the RSPB Renfrewshire Group to speak at their evening meeting on 1 February 2013 at the McMaster Centre, Robertson Park, entry from Donaldson Drive, Renfrew, PA4 8LX. The topic is 'The Birds and other animals of Dorset' with doors open at 7pm, the talk commencing at 7.30pm.

A few images, taken from the talk follow:

If you can manage along please come up and say hello!

  1. I spent a very cold, very windy afternoon at Irvine Harbour/ Bogside Flats yesterday. Adventurous birding, but worth it.

It certainly was a wild day. A more detailed report on the outing can be found on the RSPB Glasgow Local Group web site at www.rspb.org.uk/groups/glasgow
